We listen, act, and transform
Hi, I'm Cody and I have called Boise home since 2017. I was drawn to its rugged high desert landscape and the quick access it offers to nearby mountains and rivers. I am a doctoral candidate in Sport and Performance Psychology and I hold dual Master's degrees in Sport and Performance Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Idaho and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). My expertise is grounded in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT) as applied to sport, and I have completed specialized coursework, extensive supervised experience, and national certification in this field.
With nearly 20 years of experience in athletics, I have coached at the high school and NCAA levels, and worked extensively with military populations. As part of my work with the U.S. Army, I helped Soldiers develop essential mental performance skills such as attentional control, confidence, and energy management to meet the rigorous demands of Basic Training and military service.
In my role as an NCAA assistant coach, I emphasized the development of a positive, championship-level team culture rooted in goal-setting, process focus, and long-term athlete growth. I supported athletes in maintaining a healthy balance between their athletic identity and broader sense of self, and fostered leadership skills that contributed to individual and team success at conference, regional, and national levels. I also prioritized coach wellness and stress management as part of a holistic approach to performance.
My current client base includes includes professional, collegiate and high school athletes, with specialties in championship mentality, customized performance plans, injury recovery, and athlete career progression, as well as goal setting for elite performers in high risk occupations and sport and performance education for coaches, teams and parents.
A lifelong athlete myself, I began as a competitive swimmer before transitioning to cross country and track and field. I was a multiple-time Indiana state champion and a member of the Indiana High School Cross Country Hall of Fame. At Arizona State University, I competed on three NCAA cross country championship teams. Today, I remain passionate about movement and the outdoors—regularly participating in trail and distance running, and recently discovering a love for whitewater rafting the rivers near Boise.
